Road trips and music go hand in hand and every time you hear a certain song or artist that you once listened on a road trip, all the memories come rushing back in. Three years ago, when we were on a road trip in Norway (once again) and it rained 90 % of our staying. So, we basically sat in the car and listened to music. We only had three albums in the car, because the FM-transmitter broke so all mp3's were out. Hold on, three albums for 10 days, where 9 days was used to listening them. To me it sounds a bit crazy now, but I guess you just have to survive what you got and enjoy it. I mean, those three albums could have been something completely other than these goodies.
Jeff Buckley - Grace (Legacy Edition): without this one we would have not survived. Jeff Buckley was a genius; this album is so versatile and has some real pearls. His voice is fantastic and he surely knew how to use it too. I think we listened the song Kanga-roo (about 14 min long) about 100 times during the trip. That song got better and better each time, it fit perfectly to the rainy, grey and rocky scenery. This is a song that you have to really listen to get the most out of it.
The other two were Ben Harper's Both Sides of the Gun and Johnny Cash's American IV: Man Comes Around, which both felt more like neutralizing tunes between Kanga-roo no. 67 and 68.
Nice live performance of the classic Hallelujah song covered by Jeff Buckley.
