Stevie Nicks
I don't think I've hyped her yet. She is a streetwise Queen, beautiful and gorgeous with rough and powerful voice, she's been around and she has fire burning inside of her. Love her! Here an older remix of Stand Back, but the video is so good that I had to put it. I think Prince is playing the synth in this one.

Best of the best 2010
Collected this year's best albums inspired by NME, BBC, Guardian, Radio Helsinki and more. I also added some of my own favorites. If I would have to name 5 best albums of the year I would say Bonobo, The National, Robyn, Caribou and Gil Scott-Heron. At the moment most interesting, which popped from these lists are Egyptian Hip Hop, Maximum Balloon and Zola Jesus. From Finland nice beats by Kemmuru and Teflon Brothers. Click click.

Cult of Luna
Thank you Sweden for Cult of Luna! The first time I heard them was in Helsinki about five years ago. I would say one of the best gigs ever, I was absolutely hypnotized and having shivers in my spine and I can still get the same feeling easily when listening to them. Works perfectly with this dark time of the year, like two minuses makes a plus. Brings also needed extra dose of positive energy to everyday life. And, they have a song called Finland. My favorite album is Salvation, which is more mainstream than the others, both videos from there and second one is long and beautiful :) Then an appetite whetter from Finland.

Boom boom bang!
Working on a playlist involving the best of the bests in 2010. Meaning three best songs from this years best albums in my and some professionals opinion. One of the best records this year, in my opinion, is High Violet by The National, many sweet pieces on that plate huuuuh. And he, Matt Berninger, is so charmant and has such a calm but uplifting voice that shuts straight to my heart chk-chk boom!!

Dubidubiduuu
Check out this lady's voice and the whole album by Black Dub. I like like! Followed by two videos from Finland: The first one is by Uusi Fantasia, who's Top Ten record is still one of my absolute alltime favorites, this one is from their newest album Heimo that has a pretty impressive list of visiting artist e.g. Erik Boen from Kings of Convenience. Heimo is getting better after each listening. The last video is just so :)

Cooold....
Snow is here and minus degrees. I'm freezing, I do not like winter, I used to like it but not anymore, it just lasts tooo long. This is just the beginning; we have still about four months left... Hopeless and depressing. One treatment for it is to plan next year's road trips: Switzerland, South Africa, Norway, France, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden or Finland? There is something behind The Atlantic as well. Maybe all? At least, it will be the first three and the last two in the list, maybe save the last one for a another year. Heello, I think my motivation for the winter just arrived.
Of course there are some inspiring people who defy nature. Actually, if you'd give the thought a chance you might end up enjoying it, or then time gilds my memories again and it wasn't really so nice to do icecubing. It feels so good afterwards, and this I'm sure I remember correct. Yes, let the minus degree temperature record be broken this year! I think my level is only -5 degrees, feeling a bit ashamed to admit it concidering of being a citizen of the Nordic countries.
A little playlist for the winter days and a beautiful and pretty :) song by Kate Nash.

Crispy and sunny
Still sick and stuck indoors and the weather is perfect outside, but no can do. In the need of some inspiration and happy tunes. Video by John Legend & co. is a cover of Harold Melvins original, which I prefer more. And the latter is a new rising soul singer star from Finland, Jo Stance (Johanna Försti), looking forward to her album.

Ramble John Krohn was entertaining us yesterday. The set was a very nice combo of music and visuals. Gathered some of his stuff here.

Hindi Zahra
Uuuh what a voice, so so clean. She is a real performer, a real artist who could deliver and share emotions to the audience and keep them hypnotized for the whole evening. She made me feel sadness, joy, laughter, envy and happiness. The band was professional and they played a large scale of different genres; it was a joy listening them for the most part. Only some of those long lasting jamming parts could have been shorter, or then my music taste just isn’t aged enough. Also, those little space and psychedelic noises could have been left out, because they just weren't in the right place at the right time and actually completely destroyed the last tunes of the beautiful duet by Hindi and the guitarist Romain Vaugeois. But still one of the best performances this year and what do I know anyways.
Highly recommended! And, she is so much better live than on the album.
